Your skin, like the rest of our body, requires a bit of maintenance to keep it in top shape. After all, your legs wouldn’t be strong enough to run along the 606 Trail if you didn’t practice and fuel correctly. Your skin is the same – it needs some work to maintain a youthful appearance and healthy complexion. One of the major parts of skin health is exfoliation.

What Is Exfoliation?

Your skin is made up of microscopic cells. These cells are dying on a regular basis, being replaced by new ones. However, if the dead skin cells are not removed, the new skin cells cannot shine through. Exfoliation is the process of removing those dead skin cells, leaving room for more vibrant skin cells. Without regular exfoliation, dead skin cells pile up on the surface of the skin, leaving your complexion looking drab. Fortunately, it doesn’t take much to keep exfoliation in your regular skincare routine.

GOLDCOAST Medspa Solutions

Exfoliation at GOLDCOAST medspa is an important part of your skincare routine. We offer our clients two types of exfoliating treatments, microdermabrasion, and dermal planing, that are suitable for most skin types. Our microdermabrasion treatments are non-invasive, using crystals to gently buff old skin cells away from the skin’s surface. Your skin after a microdermabrasion treatment will feel tighter and softer. Our dermal planing treatment scrapes dead cells off the skin’s surface and leaves skin looking youthful, clear, and toned.

Not sure which exfoliation option is best for you? Give us a call to talk about it; we pride ourselves on giving all our clients the best experience, tailored to their specific desires and lifestyles.
